While Michelin claims the largest spot for tyre manufacturing in terms of sales and brand recognition, in terms of sales by units moved, they’re distinctly in second place - to LEGO, who manufactures more than 300 million tyres a year for their vehicle ranges.
In the latest product ranges, there’s more than 30% of the volume made up of recycled material, such as used motor oil, repurposed fishing nets, and marine rope - all to reduce the amount of rubber previously sourced for them.
