You never quite know where it's going

Some people collect the oddest things, and sometimes that has consequences.

In particular the case of John Reznikoff, a collector from Ohio, who holds the Guinness record for the largest collection of hair from historical celebrities, including samples from Abraham Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Napoleon and others.

He got into trouble in 2004 for approaching the barber of Neil Armstrong, and offering $3,000 for cuts of the astronaut’s hair.

The barber sold the hair, thinking it was otherwise rubbish, but Armstrong was unimpressed and insisted by legal letter that either the hair be returned or the money donated to charity, which is what eventually happened.
